1981年8月1日，Ashley Parker Angel出生於美国加州的Redding，从小跟随母亲和继父生活，而身爲钢琴教师的母亲和继父都十分支持Ashley走音乐这条道路。2000年，在家乡Redding一名中介人的引荐之下，Ashley Parker Angel得到了参加ABC电视台的选秀节目"Making the Band"的机会。Ashley帅气的外形和扎实的唱功爲他在五人男孩团体O-Town中赢得了一个位置。同时，Ashley Parker Angel还得到了一份与大公司签约的合同。2001年1月，Ashley Parker Angel随O-Town发行了首张专辑《O-Town》，得到全世界衆多年轻女歌迷的喜爱。

　　 2002年，在O-Town解散之後，Ashley Parker Angel独自一人来到洛杉矶寻求发展。在自己创作了多首歌曲之後，Ashley开始爲自己寻找制作人。有了之前在O-Town发片的经历，Ashley Parker Angel已经完全有能力自主选择他想要合作的对象。2004年，Ashley最终选择了与Da' Family Entertainment旗下的Blackground唱片公司正式签约。与此同时，随著电视台真人电视节目的流行，MTV台与Ashley接洽，想要以他重新进入音乐界爲题材拍一部名爲"There and Back: Ashley Parker Angel"的节目，而Ashley Parker Angel痛快地接受了这次邀请。

　　 2006年1月，《There and Back: Ashley Parker Angel》开始上映，再现了Ashley Parker Angel爲了重新发行专辑而在幕後所付出不懈努力的场景。2006年5月，Ashley Parker Angel的首张个人专辑《Soundtrack to Your Life》终於与歌迷见面。在本张专辑中，Ashley不仅一改昔日的流行曲风，而且还亲自参与到专辑所有12首歌曲的创作当中，获得了评论界和歌迷的一致好评。在发行後的第一周，《Soundtrack to Your Life》以7万2千张的单周销量排在本周Billboard 200专辑榜的第五位。
